lyrics

MEMORY STICK
I'm like Raymond Scott
on your memory stick , stick my name in your memory
like the 1st midi tambourine or acoustic
synthesizer, roll like a synthesis
of a ballerina and a typewriter
light up like its the lyrical Christmas tree
with the present of the past stuck in my memory
the presence of the future lying before
you like a brand new remote control car
running on dream energy
and plastic bass-lines, taste mine
here's to the present
you can keep your cash
I get payed in resin, reason
and raisons, I'm a peasant
working the fields of nostalagia
harvesting the fruits of old friendship
riding on tractors
over roads that can be silken and
pass by a cactus
spiky past, sudden ends
spliced ones like t.h.c stuck in your hair
from about 10 years ago
the layers of hither and ho
woe I say to the horse before it gallops
like a broadband internet connection
all these memories like tastes
of different vegetables and meats and chutneys
and rotten and fresh eggs make up the selection
make up the future the directions,
that we nurtured in the past
hot bath of memory
melancholic melodies, nurses of wounded life lines
in the hospital of time, my spine lies on the operating table
cheesy visions of the future like brains connected
to google mail via usb cables
some people say Matrix wow what a movie, brain games
pick up a card, find a match in the woods of things passed
and eggs about to hatch, whats the catch?
I say Solaris wow what a memory, a planet
that physically manifest all your memories
- and their myriad fascettes, I had escaped
in the last tense, crashed the gates of the future
and begged to let me in except their wasn't a gate keeper
to hear me instead their was this
gym with thousand of people working out for their
future and forgetting the present
the spunge of time in the ocean of subconscious
put your ear to the conshe
ancient sea snails delivering
messages in garlic sauce
and miniscule crabs singing songs
of things past and things to come
string being strummed this instant
heard on recording year from now
check all the stuff in your memory stick
and attach a message in bottle to your email
click!
I'm a the long forgotten shiny chip of light
inside your aching stomach thats come here
to remind your that your are a dying thing
limited to life and death like both are limited by you
as they are only seen by one like a carton
of memory fruit juice that I finish in 2 gulps
then blow up and make pop
and make the sparrows on the the winter park bench
jump up and form a flock, in crystal whistling
winter air I walk inside my memory fair
take roller coasters up and down the highs
and darkened caves of dwindling satisfaction
in the force field of my dreams

about

Lucius Works Here Barcelona, Spain

In the 90s he toyed with electronic music production but it wasn’t until 2004 that he created his project named Lucius Works Here. In his work, he captures his own field recordings, makes use of samplers as well as monologues taken from films, and mixes them with his own compositions. The style is bright and organic, at times sounding like IDM, or ambient. ... more
